1996: The Pogues are on a roll, the list increases to ten, and the Brit Awards CD (purchased in London) is highly influential, spawning Radiohead, rap, techno, Oasis, Pulp, further musical experimentation. Dashboard Saviors, a completely unknown band, cracks the list.  The top ten song list appears, but is discontinued in 2000: too much work!  The CD completely replaces tapes.
